A part of the Inca Trail section has been closed because of a landslide.
It has been ordered a detour of the tourists who pass through this stretch. They want to prevent tragedies such as occurred last year.
The Regional Bureau of Culture of Cusco has closed, two kilometers of the Inca Trail, in the last part Wiñaywayna - Machu Picchu (Intipunko) as a security measure, by landslides registered in this area.
Because of this possibility, in recent hours, staff of the National Service of Protected Areas by the State (Sernanp) diverted two groups of tourists to the kilometer 106 of the railroad to continue to Aguascalientes, so they can conclude their visit to the Inca citadel.
Last year a tour guide and a tourist from Argentina died in this area by landslides, so this time the aim is to prevent tragedies.
